Crazy for cool plants
Our Gardeners
I've lived in the Pacific Northwest my entire life and I studied at South Seattle College through the Horticulture and Landscape Design courses. I believe horticulture is art and I love beautifying urban spaces to help people connect with nature. Don't ask me what my favorite plant is, because they all are!
I started Gardening GaGa! in 2007. I find enormous satisfaction in creating beautiful spaces for my clients to enjoy four seasons of the year. My Fine Arts degree from the University of Oregon informs my work as a garden designer. When I paint, it’s all about texture, motion, and color. Stark, bold statements also appeal to me. It’s no surprise that these are also the things I love about gardening. I paint living pictures. In addition, I am a certified organic gardener through Seattle Tilth.
Born and raised in the PNW, I have been around plants my entire life. Growing up I would spend many hours playing in the woods around my house, falling in love with nature. That passion followed me to college where I graduated from UW with a degree in Biology: Plant Science. My past jobs have been working for an organic run vegetable farm at the university, ecology research studying climate change, and a native plant nursery before finding myself at Gardening Gaga! If it is working with plants,
Nemesio is a shy and reserved man so it is hard to understand what he can do — until you see him work! He joined us after a 12 year run with another landscaping company where he ran the crews and oversaw the day to day jobs. He loves to prune, plant containers and make paths and patios. A fun fact is that in his old life he was a cook! Nemesio is a man of many talents. We get lots of feedback from clients about his hard work so we feel especially lucky to have him on our team.
We think Juan was born with magical gardening talent. He has an ability to make everything look perfect! He has worked in fruit orchards, harvested asparagus and worked on many, many farms. For the last 10 years he has worked as a residential gardener. We are so fortunate to have him on our team. He is a hard worker and a gardening wonder.
